ABOUT

Hi my name is Chris Barrett. I am a blacksmith and metal fabricator based in Willingham, a village just north of Cambridge city.

My journey started in 2009 when I was studying Fine Art at Norwich University of the Arts and I developed an interest in making sculpture in steel.

After graduating from university I decided that I would like to pursue a career in metalwork, and enrolled at The National School of Blacksmithing at the Centre for Rural Crafts in Herefordshire, where I trained as a Blacksmith. This was one of the most enjoyable and rewarding experiences I have ever had.

Since then I have worked in many sectors of the metalworking industry including traditional blacksmithing, conservation and restoration, fine furniture making and general fabrication.

After years working with many other blacksmiths and metalworkers and honing my craft, I decided it was time to set up my own business!

I very much enjoy the creative process and problem solving involved with creating unique projects in metal, and derive great satisfaction from creating quality work that meets customers requirements.

If you have a project in mind I’d love to hear from you!
